Storytime

Young children and their caregivers enjoy stories, songs, finger plays & crafts at the library. Storytime introduces your child to books, rhymes and rhythm, music and song, puppets, felt board stories, concentration, and being in a group. Each session is typically 25-30 minutes in length followed by an interactive craft. All Storytimes are different and in between stories the participants sing, dance, and move around.   Are you afraid your child is too wild for Storytime? They’re not!

We understand and respect that young children are busy, active, and want to explore so we build our Storytime rhythms around young children’s development and attention levels.

STEAM (Science//Technology//Engineering//Art//Math)

Is your child naturally curious about the world around them? Have they ever wondered how bridges are built or how airplanes fly? Have you ever asked yourself what electricity actually is or why volcanoes spew lava? Well, if you’re in elementary school, come join us each week as we explore the curious world of science through hands-on experiments.

Our goal for this weekly after-school program is to engage children, to harness their curiosity and energy, and to help them learn and explore the world around them. Most of our activities revolve around the STEAM principles: science, technology, engineering, art, and math and are excellent opportunities to introduce concepts and promote skills that can set your child up for creative, scientific, and collaborative thinking now and in the future. Get creative, get innovative, and get ideas for making our world a better place!  Registration is not required.
