About the Friends
We are a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to the support of the Granville County Library System. Our members recognize the vital role the library plays in the community and work to support and extend its services. We raise funds for the library through memberships, book sales, and various other events.
Our Mission
Advocate for the development, growth, and improvement of library resources, services and facilities.
Promote community awareness and understanding of library resources and services.
Encourage the support of the library by government, business, and individual members of the community.
Fund library projects, equipment, programs, and important library services that are not supported by County funds.
Your membership fees help fund:
- Reading Programs for children, teens, and adults
- Special library exhibits
- Films, lectures, presentations, and educational programming
- Print and electronic materials for children and adults
- Non-budgeted library equipment
