The Thornton Library is located in historic downtown Oxford, at the corner of Main Street and Spring Street. This is our main branch and features the bulk of our print collection; including a large children’s collection and an extensive assortment of magazines and newspapers. We also have a large variety of audio book cds and DVDs.

The Thornton Library has two meeting rooms that are available for public use. Public access computers are available for internet research and word processing. The North Carolina Room contains our local history and genealogy collection (see our Genealogy page for more information).
We offer free WiFi at all of our branches.
